Warner Bros. released a little movie in 1996 called “Space Jam,” which brought together two American icons: NBA star Michael Jordan and the animated stars of “Looney Tunes” — and now the most exciting sporting event of the 20th century is profiled perfectly in a fake “30 for 30” documentary.
Titled “Tune Squad Vs. Monstars”: The Space Jam Game,” the Yahoo! spoof (above) of the ESPN documentary film series features talking heads talking about their recollection of the day America discovered aliens existed, and then challenged them to a game of basketball.

“I was home watching TV and then they break in and say, ‘Michael Jordan is teaming up with a bunny to take on a group of alien basketball players,” a fake Chicago Sun-Times sports columnist says.
Anyone who remembers the match up should recall Jordan’s poor performance in the first quarter of the game, and while the panel can’t entirely agree upon whether to blame it on a case of the jitters, or the fact that he was facing a group of jacked-up, 12-foot animated aliens, they do agree on one thing — the officials were terrible!
“The referees were absolutely horrific in this ballgame,” a fake former coach says. “Guys were getting punched, they were getting stepped on.”
But against all odds, they prevailed.
Now go ahead and remember just how great this game was — and if you haven’t seen it yet, just ignore that 35 percent “Rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Space Jam” is awesome.
