‘7 Little Johnstons’: Alex Stops Breathing During Routine MRI (Exclusive Video)

Amber is a mess when doctors ask her to step out of the procedure room

TLC’s usually joyful “7 Little Johnstons” will take a turn for the frightening on Tuesday, when Alex stops breathing during a medical procedure.

The Johnston family’s second-youngest child went in for a routine MRI on his back, but trouble set in while under sedation. When the doctors ask mom Amber to step out of the room, she knows something has gone wrong. The mother of five struggles to keep it together while addressing the reality show’s camera.

“His chest was just, like, pumping so hard,” Amber said. “So that’s when I got scared, because I couldn’t hear him breathing.”

“I’m just wondering if he’s, like, OK and stuff,” she added. “And if this is the right thing. Anesthesia is always scary when doing these types of things.”
