‘Friends’ Reunion Not Happening, NBC Says – So Okay, Enough

A "Friends" reunion isn't happening, NBC says, ruining the Internet's fun.

NBC tells TheWrap that reports of a new season or Thanksgiving special simply "aren't true." So enough with the tweets, everybody.

Last week, Starmedia said NBC had "reportedly confirmed" a new season of the show, without saying who reportedly reported the report. But that was enough to set off a slew of online speculation and Thanksgiving party planning.

But none of it is happening. Not a special and not a season. So if you keep posting on Facebook about what kind of pie Joey will bring to Thanksgiving, you're just going to look nuts. Yes, mom, I'm talking to you.

NBC's official shutdown of the reunion talk comes after "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman told E! Online that it is flat-out "not happening."

In case you're still hanging on to this crazy fantasy, Kauffman said a movie reunion isn't happening, either.

"'Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," she said.

Let it go.
