Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired all domestic and international media rights to Tze Chun’s crime thriller "Cold Comes the Night," which stars Bryan Cranston, Alice Eve and Logan Marshall-Green, the company said.
Currently in post-production, "Cold Comes the Night" stars Eve ("Star Trek Into Darkness") as a struggling motel owner who, along with her daughter (Ursula Parker, "Louie"), is taken hostage by a career criminal (Cranston) as he attempts to retrieve money from a crooked cop (Marshall-Green). Everyone gets in over their heads and a series of double-crosses leaves a string of dead bodies.

Chun, whose debut feature "Children of Invention" premiered at Sundance and won several awards on the festival circuit, directed from a script he co-wrote with Osgood Perkins and Nick Simon.
"The Wire" alum Leo Fitzpatrick co-stars in the movie, which was produced by Mynette Louie of Syncopated Films and Trevor Sagan of Sasquatch Films. It was financed by Three Point Capital, Whitewater Films and Cherry Sky Films. Scott Halle, Rick Rosenthal, Nick Morton, Jacob Pechenik, and Ali Jazayeri served as executive producers.

SPWA exec Lauren Craniotes will oversee the movie on behalf of the company.
UTA Independent Film Group and Andre Des Rochers represented the filmmakers in negotiating the deal with SPWA's Michael Helfand. Chun is represented by WME.
