Amanda Bynes' mother has been granted a temporary conservatorship over the troubled actress, according to court documents obtained by TheWrap.
Ventura County Superior Court judge Glen M. Reiser on Friday granted Lynn Bynes the conservatorship, which gives the elder Bynes control in decisions relating to her daughter's health and finances. The conservatorship will be in effect until Sept. 30.

Meanwhile, a psychiatric hold on Bynes has been extended for another 30 days, though it could end before then, the Associated Press reports.
Bynes. 27, was placed under psychiatric hold last month, after setting her pant leg ablaze while starting a fire in a driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif., where the former star of "What I LIke About You" was raised.

The actress' court-ordered attorney argued that the conservatorship wasn't necessary. However, Reiser disagreed, ruling that Bynes has a "lack of capacity to give informed consent to medical care," according to the AP.

In addition to the driveway fire incident — and a flurry of bizarre tweets that have earned the actress tabloid headlines — Bynes has had a number of scrapes with the law recently. Bynes was charged with driving with a suspended license in Los Angeles last year, a charge that followed DUI and misdemeanor hit-and-run charges. In May, police in New York arrested the actress for allegedly throwing a bong out of her apartment window. Bynes, who has denied drinking or using drugs, contends that the object was actually a vase.
