Series will revolve around four female friends in New York City
Oprah Winfrey's OWN has ordered a new "docu-series" entitled "Crazy.Sexy.Life.," the network said Wednesday, giving the reality show about "four fabulous friends living in New York City" a straight-to-series order.
Kiyah, a celebrity hairstylist, is facing her 40th birthday unsure whether her 27-year-old boyfriend is "the one"; Chenoa, who put her photography career on hold to build a family, is questioning marriage after racking up $150,000 in fertility-treatment bills; and Bershan and Tiffany are breast-cancer survivors who have a falling out during and awareness campaign.
"We feel strongly that 'Crazy.Sexy.Life.' will resonate with our viewers," OWN president Sheri Salata said of the upcoming series. "Set against the backdrop of America’s most vibrant and competitive city, this show details what real life is all about for a quartet of very different personalities who have embraced one another as 'family' for more than a decade."
CORE Media Group is producing the series, which is being executive-produced by D'Angela Proctor, Jen O'Connell, Rob Lee and Lenid Rolov. Doug Wilson served as the pilot’s executive producer.
The new series will have a sneak preview Sept. 3 following the fall finale of "The Haves and the Have Nots," and will premiere in early 2014.
