Sean Anders to Replace Seth Gordon as Director of ‘Horrible Bosses 2’

“Sex Drive” director and “We’re the Millers” writer replaces Seth Gordon

Sean Anders will direct “Horrible Bosses 2,” replacing the original film’s director Seth Gordon on the sequel to the 2011 hit, TheWrap has learned.

Gordon left the project last month citing a scheduling conflict. Anders is a popular screenwriter and director who is no stranger to raunchy comedy. His previous directing credits include the Adam Sandler comedy “That’s My Boy” and “Sex Drive” and he wrote New Line’s hit summer comedy “We’re the Millers.”

He has also written the screenplays for “Hot Tub Time Machine,” “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” and the upcoming “Dumb and Dumber To.”

“Horrible Bosses 2” will bring back Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman from the first film. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are writing the screenplay, which Anders will revise with his long-time writing partner John Morris.

The first film followed three men’s plans to murder their bosses in the style of “Strangers on a Train” and was a sleeper hit two years ago. It made more than $200 million worldwide on a $35 million production budget.

Anders and Morris are represented by CAA and are managed by Michael Lasker.
