Andrew Lincoln Teases ‘Love Actually’ Reunion Using Cue Cards (Video)

10-minute short will air as part of the “Red Nose Day Special” to benefit Comic Relief

A long time before Andrew Lincoln was killing zombies on “The Walking Dead,” he was breaking hearts in “Love, Actually” — as he reminded us in a new BBC One teaser for a reunion for the film.

The short clip sees Lincoln revisiting the famous scene from the 2003 romantic comedy in which his character uses cue cards to woo his best friend’s wife, played by Keira Knightly.

“Hello, I just wanted to ask without hope or agenda (and just because it’s nearly Red Nose Day) that you’ll join us for a very special reunion called ‘Red Nose Day Actually,’” Lincoln’s cards read.

The 10-minute short will air as part of the hour-long “Red Nose Day Special,” which benefits Comic Relief. The special will air on March 24 on BBC 1 and on March 25 on NBC.

Written by Richard Curtis and directed by Emma Freud, “Red Nose Day Actually” will reunite many of the original film’s stars, including Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson and Bill Nighy. Emma Thompson will not be featured, which makes sense: Alan Rickman, the actor who played her character’s husband in the film, died last year.

“You know dealing with Alan is very complicated,” Simon said in an interview last month. “We’re not [involving] everyone. We’re doing about two-thirds of people.”

In an interview with TheWrap last year, Lincoln admitted that the actions of his “Love, Actually” character may go beyond being romantic.

“He is a stalker,” he said. “That was my question to Richard Curtis, ‘Do you not think we’re sort of borderline stalker territory here?’ And he said, ‘No, no. Not with you playing it, darling. You’ll be alright.’”
