Debmar-Mercury to Offer TV Stations ‘The Chefs’

Teaming with ITV Studios to produce new talk show in late 2010/early 2011

Debmar-Mercury is teaming up with ITV Studios for talk show "The Chefs," which it will offer on a multiweek test basis later this year or in 2011, before offering it in national distribution.

The show, to be produced by ITV Studios and taped in New York, will feature a daily roundtable discussion by four leading chefs about a wide variety of food-related topics.

The chefs will discuss such topics as what to pack in kids’ lunches, making healthy meal choices, improving kitchen skills and learning to make favorite dishes of celebrities who will appear on the show.

The show, which has not been cast yet, also will have the chefs preparing different dishes.

"’The Chefs’ combines food, a topic that no one can live without, celebrities and a panel of premier chefs in a winning new talk format," Mort Marcus, co-president of Debmar-Mercury, said in a statement. "It has the ability to play across all daytime and early fringe time periods."

The two companies also are collaborating on the launch of a U.S. version of "The Jeremy Kyle Show," a hit daytime talk show in the U.K.
