Will Arnett Says ‘Arrested Development’ Movie ‘Definitely Happening’

The actor tells TheWrap that there will “definitely” be an “Arrested Development” movie

An "Arrested Development" movie is "definitely happening," Will Arnett told TheWrap at Fox's presentation at the annual TCA summer press tour, adding that he'd spoken with other principals in the project over the weekend.

"We just had a meeting about it yesterday morning," Arnett said.

Arnett was one of the stars of the comedy, which was cancelled in 2006 after three seasons. "Arrested Development" was never a ratings hit, but it gained critical acclaim and developed a cult following during its brief run.

"Timing we're still working on, but it's definitely going to happen," Arnett said.

Those comments echoed what he told GQ late last month.

Rumors of an "Arrested Development" movie have persisted for years since the show's cancellation and many associated with the show have previously said it was going to happen, but according to Arnett, the planning has moved into a much more advanced phase.

Arnett was at TCA to promote the new Fox sitcom "Running Wilde," which he stars in with Keri Russell.
