David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express”) directs the raucous 20th Century Fox comedy

EXCLUSIVE

"Curb Your Enthusiasm's" J.B. Smoove, "Where the Wild Things Are" star Max Records and child actor Kevin Hernandez have joined the cast of David Gordon Green's 20th Century Fox comedy "The Sitter," TheWrap has learned.

Jonah Hill stars as a college dropout who agrees to help out his mom by babysitting her friend's three mischievous kids. He reluctantly scores some drugs for a girl — taking the children along for the ride — but when the deal goes bad, the night turns into a wild chase through Manhattan, where Hill proves to be a better babysitter than anyone expected.

Records and Hernandez join newcomer Landry Bender as the troublemaking trio, while Smoove will play one of two drug dealers who get caught up in the R-rated shenanigans.

Green directs from a script by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, the duo who have been tapped to write the "Baywatch" movie for Paramount.

"The Sitter" will be Green's third consecutive comedy following Columbia's "Pineapple Express" and Universal's upcoming "Your Highness," which is set to open April 8, 2011, just three months before the July 15 release of "The Sitter."

Michael De Luca ("The Social Network") is producing the picture, which is currently filming in New York.

While Smoove is best known for playing Leon Black on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," he's been a regular on the Fox sitcom "'Til Death," and before that, played a recurring character on the CW's "Everybody Hates Chris." On the big screen, Smoove has appeared in "Pootie Tang," "Mr. Deeds" and "Date Night," and he will soon be seen in the Farrelly brothers' comedy "Hall Pass."

You can follow Smoove's fantasy football prowess on the Jimmy Kimmel Live YouTube page. After a narrow defeat at the hands of ESPN columnist Bill Simmons last week, Smoove's team fell to 4th place with a 2-2 record. "The Sitter" star takes on "Community's" Joel McHale this weekend in what should be an exciting celebrity showdown.

Records was last seen giving a truly heartbreaking performance in Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book, "Where the Wild Things Are." He previously played a young Mark Ruffalo in "The Brothers Bloom.

Hernandez has appeared on episodes of "My Name Is Earl" and "The Unit." He'll soon be seen alongside Mel Gibson in the Mexican prison drama "How I Spent My Summer Vacation."

Smoove is represented by WME and Rain Management Group, while CAA reps Records and the Jaime Ferrar Agency reps Hernandez.
