Miramax and Echo Bridge Entertainment have entered into an agreement for the domestic distribution of 251 of the studio’s movies on DVD and Blu-ray, it was announced on Thursday.
Included in the agreement are the "From Dusk Till Dawn” trilogy, award-winning dramas such as “Music of the Heart,” “Marvin’s Room,” “Tsotsi” and“Becoming Jane” and select titles from the “Hellraiser,” “Halloween,” “Pokemon” and “Children of the Corn”franchises.
This follows word last week that Lionsgate and StudioCanal would distribute more than 550 titles from the Miramax library on DVD, Blu-ray, on-demand and online.
“These Miramax titles are fabulous additions to our home entertainment offerings,” Echo Bridge’s Michael Rosenblatt said in a statement. “We are all very excited about bringing these Miramax titles — many of which have tremendous star power and are cult classics — to audiences for their discovery and enjoyment.”
“We are very pleased to partner with Michael Rosenblatt and the team at Echo Bridge on these titles, which in many cases have never been fully exploited,” added Miramax CEO Mike Lang. “Our goal at Miramax is to work with the right partners to fully maximize every asset in our extraordinary film catalog across all platforms.”
