Summit to ‘Snitch’ With Dwayne Johnson

Exclusive Films International is handling global sales, which kicked off at Cannes

Summit Entertainment has picked up domestic rights to Dwayne Johnson's thriller "Snitch."

Exclusive Films International is handling global sales, which kicked off at Cannes.

"Snitch" is about a suburban father whose teen son is sentenced to 10 years in prison under mandatory drug laws. To reduce the boy's sentence, the father goes undercover after a higher-level dealer.

It's based on a "Frontline" documentary.

"Felon's" Ric Roman Waugh is directing. Justin Haythe  ("Revolutionary Road") wrote the screenplay. Waugh worked on the screenplay, as well.

Exclusive Media, Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi are co-financing.

Exclusive is producing with Johnson and his producing partner Dany Garcia. Frontline's David Fanning also is producing.

Johnson is a likable and increasingly bankable actor who is driving — rather than riding — his "Fast Five" momentum.

Earlier this month, Johnson switched from CAA to WME. CAA made Johnson's deal for "Snitch."
