Jeff Bridges Sealed for ‘R.I.P.D.’ With Ryan Reynolds

Jeff Bridges has been cast alongside Ryan Reynolds in Universal's "R.I.P.D.," TheWrap has learned.

The Academy Award winner had been in negotiations to play a role that Zach Galifianakis that once been under consideration to play.

Bridges will play a police officer in the Rest In Peace Department.

"R.I.P.D." is based on the Dark Horse Entertainment comicbook by Peter M. Lenkov. In the movie, Nick Cruz, played by Reynolds, is a recently slain police officer who joins the force and tries to find his own murderer.

Bridges will play Bo, a veteran member of the force.

Robert Schwentke is directing.

Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay wrote the script.

Dark Horse's Mike Richardson is producing with Neal Moritz and David Dobkin.
