‘Men of a Certain Age’ Canceled by TNT

Axing comes after show received its second Emmy nomination

"Men of a Certain Age" has been canceled, TNT confirms to TheWrap.

The series, which starred Ray Romano, ran for two seasons, and had just earned its second Emmy nomination, for co-star Andre Braugher. The series also won a Peabody Award earlier this year.

"TNT has been proud to be a part of 'Men of a Certain Age' for two seasons," a TNT spokesperson told TheWrap.  "While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn’t built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish Ray Romano, [co-creator] Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of 'Men of a Certain Age' the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future."

Premiering in December 2009, the comedy-drama featured Romano, Braugher and Scott Bakula as a trio of friends struggling with the complexities of middle age. Braugher, who played car-dealership manager Owen, was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series last year, in addition to his nod this year.
