Olbermann Autopsy on CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’: ‘An Arrested Adolescent’ (Video)

Said Kurtz: “When you hire a pitbull to growl on TV, don’t be surprised if he claws the furniture at home”

Keith Olbermann did not fare very well among his peers as we debated his lawsuit and countersuit with Current TV on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday morning.

I said that readers were tired of his antics after watching him flame his bosses at ESPN, MSNBC and now Current. David Zurawik, critic for The Baltimore Sun, called the fired news host “an arrested adolescent,” and that was his kindest remark.

Only Howard Kurtz, the host, made an attempt to defend the guy, saying that after all, Olbermann had to deal with “a smaller network, (where) the lights didn’t work, the cameras cut away in mid-sentence.” (Some might say Howie was playing devil’s advocate, but never mind.)

Marisa Guthrie of The Hollywood Reporter said that the $70 million lawsuit is likely to end in a settlement. I agree.

And as Kurtz so pithily put it: “When you hire a pitbull to growl on TV, don’t be surprised if he claws the furniture at home.”
