Oprah Winfrey Gets OWN Section of Huffington Post

Section will debut in August

Oprah Winfrey will soon have her own section of the Huffington Post to go along with her OWN network.

The new Winfrey and OWN section of the site will debut in August and will be curated and created by writers and producers of OWN and Oprah.com for The Huffington Post. The goal of the partnership is to bring some of Winfrey's fanbase to The Huffington Post while sending some of the Huffington Post audience to Winfrey's ratings-challenged OWN.

New York, NY and Los Angeles, Calif. – The Huffington Post Media Group, a leading source of news, opinion, entertainment, community and digital information and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the launch of an Oprah Winfrey section on Huffingtonpost.com coming August 2012.  The announcement was made by Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group, and Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, presidents, OWN.

The special section on the website will feature content created and curated by writers and producers from OWN and Oprah.com specifically for The Huffington Post.  Additionally, the section will call upon The Huffington Post's vast network of bloggers and community to have a conversation around Oprah.com content.

The Huffington Post Oprah section will contain a mix of articles, blogs and interactive content that will connect with the audience on an emotional and spiritual level. The site will provide practical advice and resources encouraging people to discover their best selves and to lead happy, fulfilling lives by taking steps to attain their goals. Topics covered will include personal growth, spirituality and aspects of physical and mental health.
