IATSE Union Ends Strike, Will Organize TNT’s ‘The Great Escape’ (Updated)

The IATSE union will organize workers on TNT's "The Great Escape," reaching an agreement with producer Profiles Entertainment after calling a strike on Saturday

Seven hours after declaring a strike against the TNT show "The Great Escape," the IATSE union struck an agreement with the production company to organize the show's workers. 

"IATSE and Profiles Television Productions have reached an agreement," the union said in a statement. The crew was picketed for seven hours today in Santa Clarita, Calif., where the show is shooting at the Placerita Canyon Power Plant.

The crew is now back at work.

The IATSE union went on strike against TNT's "The Great Escape" on Saturday after declaring the show's producer, Profiles Entertainment, an unfair employer.

A spokesman for Profiles Entertainment could not immediately be reached for comment.

In a news release,  the International Alliance of Theatrical Artists (IATSE ) said: “A picket line has been set up at the Placerita Power Plant, current location of the show, at 20885 Placerita Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91321.  The picket line will be in place all day today, Saturday, June 9.”

IATSE declared Profiles Entertainment an unfair employer on Saturday for allegedly obstructing union organizing efforts.

"The Great Escape" is a competition action/adventure reality series hosted by Rich Eisen, one of NFL's on-air talent. Headed by co-founders Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, Profiles Television Productions, LLC is the parent company of both World Race Productions and Earthview, Inc.

"The Great Escape" is also produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine TV, Fox TV Studios, and creators Justin Hochberg and Charlie Ebersol.

The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade show industries throughout the United States, its Territories, and Canada.
