Universal Russia to Distribute Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger Films

Universal Pictures International Russia has made an eight-film deal with Premium Film

Universal Pictures International Russia will distribute Premium Film’s next eight films in Russia, per an agreement between the two parties announced on Thursday.

The first three major releases under the deal will be Jackie Chan’s “Chinese Zodiac,” Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Last Stand” and “Scary Movie 5.”

“We’re very happy to be working with our new colleagues from Premium Film under this new deal,” Vadim Ivanov, managing director of UPI Russia, said in a statement. “They have selected great films with significant box office potential.  We’re looking forward to bringing these films to the Russian market.”

Universal will handle physical theatrical distribution in Russia and in every other member of the Commonwealth of Independent States except the Ukraine. That includes countries such as Belarus, Armenia and Tajikistan.
