Tina Bennett is an agent to Malcolm Gladwell, Fareed Zakaria, Laura Hillenbrand and Atul Gawande, among other high-profile non-fiction authors
Tina Bennett, agent to high-profile authors like Malcolm Gladwell, Atul Gawande and Fareed Zakaria, has joined WME’s literary department.
Bennett has been a director at Janklow & Nesbit Associates, one the largest literary agencies in the world, since 1994.
Bennett, a fellow at the New York Institute for the Humanities and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, will work out of WME’s New York office. She joins Eric Simonoff, who left Janklow for WME in 2009.
She represents a bevy of popular non-fiction authors. Gladwell, a New Yorker contributor, has written best-selling books like “The Tipping Point” and “Outliers,” while Laura Hillenbrand penned “Seabiscuit,” a book-turned-film about the legendary race horse.
Also on her client sheet are journalists like James Risen and Sheri Fink and such novelists as Lev Grossman.
All of Bennett's clients will come to WME. She will continue to represent authors and journalists, handing off their projects to the agency's book-to-film department.
Revenue from the past works of Bennett's clients stays with Janklow.
