Paramount would distribute the sci-fi film
Edgar Wright and J.J. Abrams are teaming up for a new sci-fi film titled “Collider” for Paramount, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Wright, writer/director of “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” will direct from a script he is writing with “Thor” scribe Mark Protosevich.
Wright still has to shoot “The World’s End,” his next project with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who starred in Wright’s “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead.”
He also teased fans at Comic-Con with rough test-shot footage from “Ant-Man,” which he is directing for Marvel. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced release dates for several upcoming films, such as the sequels to "Thor" and "Captain America," but declined to do so for "Ant-Man."
Wright will also produce "Collider" with Nira Park through Park’s Big Talk Productions.
Abrams, one of Paramount's most important partners, will produce the film through his Bad Robot Productions.
The plot remains under wraps.
Deadline first reported this project.
