The Osbournes: Over and Out at Fox

The Osbournes will not be reloading on Fox.

Five episodes of the Obsournes’ variety series "Osbournes: Reloaded" have been sitting on the Fox shelves for several months now. The network had said the episodes would air this summer, even after a special preview in March failed to generate great ratings or critical buzz.

But now, network insiders confirm that "Osbournes" won’t be back on Fox. Ever.

The issue, it seems, is affiliate resistance. Nearly 14 percent of Fox affiliates had told Fox they wouldn’t be willing to air future episodes of the series due to content concerns.

"Osbournes: Reloaded" featured a slew of salty language (albeit bleeped out) and some risque sketches. That proved to be unpopular in certain parts of the country.

With such a huge chunk of stations not willing to air "Osbournes," it wouldn’t make sense for Fox to try airing the show since it would be almost impossible for the network to get substantial viewership.

While the Fox network won’t be airing "Osbournes: Reloaded," there’s a chance the show could end up on a cable channel such as Fox Reality, insiders said.
