Jon Stewart Slams NBC for Cutting Tribute to Terror Victims (Video)

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart rips network for airing Ryan Seacrest/Michael Phelps interview over commemoration of subway bombing

Disappointed with NBC's coverage of the London Olympics so far? You're not alone — Jon Stewart is on your side.

"Daily Show" host Stewart laid into the network on Monday's episode for choosing not to air a tribute to the victims of the 2005 London subway bombings, and cutting instead to Ryan Seacrest interviewing Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.

"NBC, the network that, to commemorate 9/11, actually re-runs 9/11, you wouldn't air a six-minute tribute to the rest of the world's terrorist victims?" Stewart asked incredulously. "Because the world's most overexposed land-based mammal had a chance to speak to the world's most over-exposed water-based mammal! Why would you do that?"

Stewart then cut to a news report on NBC's explanation of the decision, which noted that the network's Olympic coverage is tailored to an American audience. The satirical news anchor used the explanation to take a dig at the network's less-popular shows such as "Harry's Law" and "Saving Hope."

"You're NBC!" Stewart cracked. "You don't know how to tailor television to an American audience!"

Watch Stewart go for the gold medal for righteous outrage in the video below.
