AFM Draws Dozens of New Sales Companies

The American Film Market will feature more than 50 new exhibiting companies this year

The American Film Market will feature more than 50 new companies this year, the AFM announced on Wednesday.

National organizations from Australia, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Russia and Thailand will also have a presence at the film marketplace, centered at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, for the first time.

Reflecting the fact that a slew of sales and production companies have launched in the past year, new entities taking part for the first time this year include Altitude Film Sales (William Clarke and Andy Mayson), Embankment Films (Hugo Grumbar and Tim Haslam), Good Universe (Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane), Mister Smith Entertainment (David Garrett), Radiant Films International (Mimi Steinbauer), Speranza13 Media (Camela Galano) and The Solution Entertainment Group (Lisa Wilson).

National organizations, both new and those returning to the AFM this year, include Ausfilm (Australia), China Film Promotion International (China) the Consulate General of Brazil, LA (Brazil), the Colombia Film Commission (Columbia), the FAPAE – Audiovisiual Trade, S.L. (Spain), Fiji Film (Figi), and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (Hong Kong).

“Global production is steadily expanding. The AFM welcomes and looks forward to supporting the producers, distributors and national organizations from every corner of the world,” said Jonathan Wolf, executive vice president of the Independent Film & Television Alliance and managing director of the AFM.

AFM runs from Oct. 31 to Nov. 7.
