While some people have chosen to focus on gun control in the wake last week's horrific shootings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., last week, Ted Nugent has an alternate theory as to why the shootings occurred.
In a lengthy essay penned for the Washington Times, "Wango Tango" rocker and outspoken conservative Ted Nugent places the blame on a "politically correct" culture in America that's led to a "spiritual bankruptcy" and "anything goes" attitude.

"The ugly and dangerous truth is that we live in an embarrassing, politically correct culture that exalts and rejoices in the bizarre; aggressively promotes an 'anything goes' value system; and vilifies, condemns and mocks traditional societal values and customs at every opportunity," Nugent wrote. "We’ve embraced a culture of contempt that attacks the very institutions that make for a healthy and strong society, and then we’re shocked when it spirals out of control. The only thing I’m shocked about is that anybody is shocked."
Pro-gun activist Nugent dismisses the notion — put forth by "blabbermouths," as Nugent calls them — that tighter gun control will help prevent future tragedies.

"Some blabbermouths already are using the Connecticut school massacre to promote their anti-gun agenda even though more gun laws won’t prevent a psychotic from getting a gun and killing us," Nugent said.
Rather, the "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" yelper suggests, a return to old-time morals will dam up the river of blood that's been flowing through the halls of our nation's schools lately: "As with most things, the cure to this mess begins and ends with the family. Traditional family values have been under siege for decades by our culture of contempt. In the absence of a solid family, the whole thing slowly unravels and rots."

Nugent has been especially vocal about the topic of gun control lately. When "Sunday Night Football" sportscaster Bob Costas argue for tighter gun laws after Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher's murder-suicide earlier this month, Nugent fired off an angry tweet directed at Costas.
"We thought Bob Costas was smarter than that," the musician wrote. "Only fools blame tools instead of human failings. Shame Bob."
