Daniel Miller Leaves Hollywood Reporter for L.A. Times (Exclusive)

Senior writer Daniel Miller will likely replace Ben Fritz at the Times

Daniel Miller has left his position as senior writer at the Hollywood Reporter and is poised to join the Los Angeles Times, an individual with knowledge of the hire told TheWrap.

Miller would likely replace Ben Fritz, who is taking a job at the Wall Street Journal's lead business film reporter. As of Friday, there had been no official announcement of Miller's hire.

Miller did not respond to requests for comment, but his voice mail at the Reporter said he had left the trade publication as of Jan. 25.

At the Reporter, Miller covered the film business and won a prizes for a report on the Church of Scientology's real-estate buying spree in Hollywood and a profile of Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom.

Last week, he was assisting on the Reporter's Sundance coverage and has written on a variety of topics, including the sports management company IMG, billionaire Ron Tutor and statistician Nate Silver.

Nancy Sullivan, a spokeswoman for the Times, declined to comment to TheWrap.
