Sam Worthington to Star in FilmEngine Thriller ‘For the Dogs’

Philip Noyce will direct the tale of an assassin who helps a college girl exact revenge on her family's killers

Sam Worthington will star in the FilmEngine Entertainment action film “For the Dogs,” the company announced Wednesday.

He'll play an assassin who agrees to help a bright college girl exact revenge on those who mercilessly murdered her parents and younger brother.

Getty ImagesPhillip Noyce (“Salt”) will direct from a screenplay written by Oren Moverman (“The Messenger”) based on an adaptation by Paul Leyden. The film is based on the novel “For the Dogs” written by Kevin Wignall.

Anthony Rhulen and Navid McIlhargey will produce via the FilmEngine Entertainment banner, along with Worthington, John and Michael Schwarz via their Full Clip Productions banner, and Paul Leyden.

Worthington was most recently seen in “Wrath of the Titans” and “Man on a Ledge.”

Sierra/Affinity is handling international sales for the film and Paradigm will be handling the domestic sales.
