Actress Ellen Page will make her directorial debut with “Miss Stevens,” a film that will star Anna Faris as a teacher whose life is in disarray.
Page, an Oscar nominee for Jason Reitman’s “Juno,” will direct from Julia Hart’s script. The story follows a teacher who rediscovers herself while chaperoning a group of high schoolers on a trip to a state drama competition.
Gary Gilbert and Jordan Horowitz of Gilbert Films will produce with Doug Wald of Anonymous Content.
Page, a Canadian actress best known for playing characters with a wry sense of humor, has appeared in a mix of independent fare and massive studio pictures since her breakout in "Juno."
She can next be seen in Fox Searchlight's thriller "The East," which premiered at Sundance in January. Page, who also appeared in another Sundance premiere, Lynn Shelton's "Touchy Feely," will begin production on the next "X-Men" movie in the spring. She is represented by WME and Vie Entertainment.
Faris, represtened by WME and Anonymous Content, just appeared in the anthology comedy "Movie 43" and her next film, I Give It a Year" will screen at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March.
She will next star in "Mom," a CBS pilot from "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre.
Hart does not yet have a produced title to her name, but her script for "The Keeping Room" landed on the 2012 Black List and now has Olivia Wilde and Hailee Steinfeld attached to star. She is also adapting "Beautiful Disaster" for Donald Deline and Warner Bros.
