Diane Sawyer to talk with former student set free after accusations she murdered roommate

Amanda Knox, the college student who was convicted but eventually cleared in the murder of her roommate in Italy, will break her silence about the case in an interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer.

Getty ImagesThe exclusive interview will air in a primetime special on Tuesday, April 30 on ABC. It will also be featured across shows including “World News with Diane Sawyer,” “Good Morning America,” and “Nightline“ and on ABCNews.com, Yahoo!, ABC News Radio, and ABC’s local affiliates.

Knox was convicted in December 2009, but was released in October 2011 after the conviction was overturned on appeal.

The interview will air on the day her book about the ordeal, "Waiting to Be Heard," is published by HarperCollins.
