Ratings: ‘The Following’ Gains One; CBS and ABC Tie for First in Key Demo

"The Bachelor" and "Castle" rise to give ABC the night's largest total viewership

Fox's new drama "The Following" rebounded Monday night after taking a ratings hit last week, while CBS and ABC shared first place in the key 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary numbers.

ABC and CBS both drew a 2.8 rating/7 share, with ABC edging out CBS in total viewers to take first place with 9.4 million.

The network's primetime slate increased across the board, starting with "The Bachelor" at 8 p.m., which was up 11 percent for a 3.0/8 and drew 9.2 million total viewers. "Castle" at 10 grew 10 percent for a 2.2/6 and had 9.7 million total viewers.

CBS took second place in total viewers with 9.2 million. "How I Met Your Mother" at 8 grew 6 percent to a 3.4/10, tying "2 Broke Girls" for the night's best performance in the demo and taking 8.8 million total viewers. "Rules of Engagement" at 8:30 posted a 2.8/7 with 8.1 million total viewers, while "2 Broke Girls" at 9 inched down to a 3.4/8 with 10.1 million total viewers.

"Mike & Molly" at 9:30 ticked up to a 3.1/8 and had the night's largest audience with 10.3 million total viewers. "Hawaii Five-0" at 10 drew a 2.0/5 and had 9 million total viewers.

Fox took third in ratings and total viewers with a 2.5/6 and 8.3 million. "Bones" at 8 dipped to a 2.1/6 and drew 8.3 million total viewers, while "The Following" at 9, which last week dipped 17 percent, grew 17 percent Monday night to a 2.8/7 with 8.3 million total viewers.

NBC drew fourth place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 4.8 million viewers. "The Biggest Loser" at 8 inched up to a 2.1/5 and drew 5.6 million total viewers, while "Deception" at 10 remained even, pulling a 1.2/3 with 3.2 million total viewers.
