Ratings: ‘Deadliest Catch’ Grabs 2.8M; ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ Gets Solid Start

"Inside Amy Schumer" gives Comedy Central its best premiere numbers so far this year, topping "The Jeselnik Offensive"

"Deadliest Catch" brought in quite the haul on Tuesday night, luring 2.8 million total viewers with its 9 p.m. airing.

An impressive harvest, for sure, though down slightly from last week's episode, which lured in 3.05 million total viewers.

The ninth season premiere of the Discovery Channel offering on April 16 drew 3.47 million total viewers.

According to Discovery, Tuesday night's "Deadliest Catch" was the night's most-watched cable offering.

Discovery's "Backyard Oil," which premiered last week, drew 1.68 million total viewers with its 10 p.m. airing, off slightly from the 1.84 million total viewers who tuned in for the series' maiden installment.

In other cable ratings news, a lot of people got "Inside Amy Schumer" for the series' premiere Tuesday night. The premiere of comedienne Schumer's new series drew 1.6 million total viewers with its 10:30 premiere, the majority of them — 1.2 million — in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. According to Comedy Central, the "Inside Amy Schumer" premiere was the network's highest-performing premiere of 2013, besting the February premiere of "The Jeselnik Offensive" in total viewers by 14 percent and in the demo by 16 percent.
