‘Awkward’ Recruits Tegan and Sara as Guest Music Supervisors (Video)

The indie pop duo serve as music supervisors for next Tuesday's episode of the MTV comedy

"Awkward" definitely lives up to MTV's standards when it comes to the show's soundtrack, but it's bumping it up a notch for next Tuesday's episode.

Indie pop duo Tegan and Sara, just off the release of their album "Heartthrob" serve as the episode's guest music supervisors.

"The thing that's really interesting about having your music placed is that you have really very little say in where or how it's used, so this was a really cool opportunity to see what it's like to be on the other side of it,” Sara said in a statment.

"Thinking of the fans of the show who would be watching, who know that there is always really amazing music on 'Awkward' and for us to be able to bring to light some new, unknown artists for them, that ended up being the challenge I liked the most,” Tegan added.

Among Tegan and Sara's choices for the episode are "90210" by The Courtneys, "Perpetual Surrender" by Diana, "Say Something" by Sucré, "All We Have" by Ok Sweetheart and Tegan and Sara's own "I Was A Fool."

The full set list will be available soon at soundtrack.mtv.com.

"Awkward" made quite the return for Season 3. The one-hour premiere on April 16 averaged 2.1 million total viewers ranking No. 1 among MTV's younger skewing 12-34 year old demo.

"Awkward" airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on MTV.
