"Family Tools" debuted in May as the network's lowest-rated comedy premiere ever
ABC has given a second season to the freshman comedy "The Neighbors," but has canceled the comedy "Family Tools," which debuted earlier this month as the network's lowest-rated comedy premiere ever.
The May 1 premiere of "Family Tools" drew a 1.5 rating/4 share in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic, a network low for comedy premieres.
"The Neighbors" premiered in September with a 3.3/9, benefiting from a lead-in of the network's hit comedy "Modern Family."
J.K. Simmons, who starred in "Family Tools," has signed on for the NBC pilot "The Family Guide."
