Meet YouTube’s Biggest Partner You’ve Never Heard Of (Video)

TheWrap's Lucas Shaw explains what differentiates Base79 from YouTube's other partners

Every Hollywood studio is courting partners across the globe in China, Russia and India, but in the world of YouTube one company stands above the rest overseas – Base79.

Founded by former advertising executive Ashley Mackenzie, Base 79's network of channels reaches as many as 700 million viewers a month and includes partners such as the BBC and Simon Cowell.

While most of the biggest networks of YouTube channels in the United States have yet to establish a big footprint overseas, Mackenzie has structured his business as YouTube’s one truly international network.

See our video on Base79 below and check out our conversation with Mackenzie here.
