Stephen David's four-part historical series about the Gold Rush will air in October
Discovery Channel has “Gold Fever.”
TheWrap has learned that Discovery is in business with Stephen David, who executive produced last year's Emmy-winning four-part documentary series, “The Men Who Built America,” for its own historical docu-miniseries titled “Gold Fever.”
The four part docu-miniseries will air Friday, Oct. 11 and Oct. 18 at 9/8c on Discovery Channel.
It will primarily focus on the period after gold was discovered and the Boston Company, a group of 40 men who pursue riches in the West from January 1848 to October 1850.
Viewers will learn just how different the men of Boston Company's expectations were from the harsh reality that they discovered during their pursuit of wealth. In the end, they would end up uncovering an estimated 25 billion dollars without even knowing it, a bounty that would help lay the foundation of the American Empire.
Along with David, Nancy Daniels and Matthew Kelly will executive produce for Discovery Channel.
