Aaron Carter has decided to seek help, a day after police reportedly showed up to his residence for a welfare check on the singer.

Carter’s publicist told TheWrap in a statement Friday that the “Dancing With the Stars” alum will enter a facility “to improve his health and work on his overall wellness.”

“Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness. He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible,” the publicist said.

“He is grateful for the support and love from his fans and looks forward to coming back stronger than ever before,” the publicist continued.

According to TMZ, police arrived at Carter’s home on Thursday after receiving a call that he seemed to be “under the influence of something” from someone who had been on a call with Carter and “felt something just wasn’t right.”

Police were also reportedly called to his home earlier this month, and in July, he and his girlfriend were arrested on DUI and drug charges in Georgia.

On Friday, Carter tweeted, “Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.”
