Aaron Sorkin’s ‘Newsroom’ Gets an Intense New Trailer (Video)

Jeff Daniels and his castmates go into righteousness mode in latest sneak peek at Aaron Sorkin's HBO series "The Newsroom"

A new trailer for Aaron Sorkin's upcoming HBO series "The Newsroom" has been released, offering a deeper glimpse into the "West Wing" honcho's latest creation.

The latest sneak peek of the series starts with Jeff Daniels' character, cable news anchor Will McAvoy, apologizing to his viewers for his show's failure to fulfill its journalistic responsibility. The ensuing two minutes feature a lot of intense dialogue and an air of righteousness as thick as pea soup.

Yup — it's definitely an Aaron Sorkin project.

The series, which follows McAvoy, his executive producer, his newsroom staff and boss as they "set out on a patriotic and quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal relationships," premieres June 24 at 10 p.m. Sam Waterston, Emily Mortimer, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn also star.
