Larry King grills the ABC series’ star about his character's return from the dead
ABC's “Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is in its fourth week now and viewers are still pretty much in the dark about Agent Coulson's return from death.
Thankfully, Larry King (hiding behind fan questions) grilled actor Clark Gregg about just what went down during his character's sojourn to Tahiti.
“Tahiti is a magical place,” he said on Ora TV's “Larry King Now.”
“But, every time someone mentions it lately, I seem to go into post-traumatic stress. So, I think there's a little more to Tahiti than meets the eye,” he added.
Agent Coulson was mortally wounded during “The Avengers” movie in a fight with Loki (Tom Hiddleston). On the pilot episode for “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” the audience learned that he was quickly resuscitated after his death by the secret organization and healed in Tahiti.
“There's a much darker, more interesting story there,” he told King. “Something much more magical has gone on to bring this guy back to life.”
He later stated the obvious, “I know more than the audience, but less than the writers.”
