ABC News Recognized by National Association of Black Journalists

Diane Sawyer's Trayvon Martin piece titled "Shooting in Sanford" and "Robin's Journey" were both honored

The National Association of Black Journalists handed out a pair of awards to ABC News at its annual "Salute to Excellence" Gala on Saturday.

"World News with Diane Sawyer" won for "General Assignment — Long Form" for its reporting on the shooting of Trayvon Martin, titled "Shooting in Sanford," while "Good Morning America" won in the "Specialty" category for Robin Roberts' first-hand account of the difficulty African Americans face when looking for bone marrow donors, "Robin's Journey: Finding a Donor."

Over 50 awards were given out at NABJ's ceremony.
