ABC has ordered a half-hour single-camera comedy pilot from Jeff Lowell (“John Tucker Must Die”), the network said Tuesday.

The as-yet-untitled project, which Lowell wrote, is described as a romantic comedy that exposes the unfiltered internal monologues of a young couple embarking on a new relationship.

In addition to the big-screen offering “John Tucker Must Die,” Lowell has served as a writer and producer on a number of series, including “Two and a Half Men,” “Common Law,” “Spin City” and “Just Shoot Me.”

The project comes via Brillstein Entertainment and ABC Studios. Peter Traugott (“Samantha Who?” and “Do No Harm”) is in negotiations to executive produce.
