Hit competition series will hoof it into a 19th season
“Dancing With the Stars” isn't on its last legs by a long shot.
ABC has renewed its hit dancing competition series for a 19th season, the network said Friday.
The renewal is hardly surprising; the series draws a substantial viewership, even if its performance in the 18-49 demographic most sought by viewers isn't quite as impressive.
To date, the current season of “Dancing With the Stars” is averaging 15.8 million total viewers, a 2 percent increase over last season at this stage, and is the most-watched show in its Mondays from 8 to 10 p.m. time slot. (The show is currently the fourth most-watched program on television, and the most-watched unscripted series overall.)

In the 18-49 demographic, the current season is averaging a 2.5 rating/7 share, a 4 percent dip compared to last season at the same point.
