Adrian Pasdar Playing the President in USA’s ‘Political Animals’

The "Heroes" alum will star opposite Sigourney Weaver in all six episodes of USA's limited-run series that premieres in July

"The Lying Game" star and "Heroes" alum Adrian Pasdar has signed on to play the POTUS in USA's limited-run summer drama "Political Animals."

ABC FamilyPasdar will play President Paul Garcetti, who appoints Sigourney Weaver's Elaine Barrish — a divorced former first lady — to be his Secretary of State after she ran against him in the presidential primary.

The six-episode series, from executive producers Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark, premieres on USA on July 15.

"Animals" also stars Carla Gugino — last seen guest starring in a season-three episode of "Justified" — as Susan Berg, a political journalist who teams up with Elaine to tackle a State Department crisis after years spent as her political enemy.

Ellen Burstyn stars as Elaine's mother Margaret Barrish, "Lone Star" alum and recent "Happy Endings" guest star Josh Wolk and "Gossip Girl" star Sebastian Stan play Elaine's sons Douglas and T.J. and "Rome" alum Ciarán Hinds plays Elaine's ex, Bud Hammond.
