Al Gore and Keith Olbermann Slam Debt Deal on ‘Countdown’ (Video)

Current TV’s famous chairman and its puckish news anchor are a little upset right now

Al Gore appeared on Monday's edition of "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" to discuss the debt deal — and, not surprisingly, the former Vice President and 2000 presidential shaftee isn't happy about it.

"I think that this should be a wake-up call for all Americans that our system of government itself is in real trouble," said Gore. "We have been making as a country a whole series of really bad decisions."

Olbermann introduced the segment by calling Gore "mon capitan," a reference to Gore's role as chairman of Current TV. The former MSNBC host ended the interview by saying, "Thanks again for your time, and thanks again for bringing me over here."

Later, Olbermann ripped on Congress in his Special Comment feature with "The Four Great Hypocrasies of the Debt Deal" and implored viewers to "get mad" and take the nation back from politicians.

"It will do no good to wait for the politicians to suddenly atone for their sins," he railed. "They are too busy trying to keep their jobs to do their jobs."

During the nine-minute scripted rant, you could almost see smoke coming out of Olbermann's ears.
