Alan Rickman Turns Punk Rock in Trailer for ‘CBGB’ (Video)

The fall film, co-starring "Big Bang Theory's" Johnny Galecki, tells the story of a bar meant for country, bluegrass and blues that bred a dangerous new form of rock 'n roll

The internet was turned up to 11 on Wednesday when the trailer for "CBGB" hit the web.

The upcoming film follows the story of the New York City club, which became the birthplace of underground rock 'n roll and punk music.

The dingy bar, which was originally intended as a venue for Country, Bluegrass and Blues — hence the initials — instead ended up the home to acts such as Blondie, the Ramones, Talking Heads and the Police.

The movie stars Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, Johnny Galecki as record executive Terry Ork and Alan Rickman as club owner Hilly Kristal, who would become known as the godfather of punk music. Bradley Whitford and Donal Logue round out the cast.
