Joan Rivers is an equal-opportunity offender when it comes to sticking up for Alec Baldwin
One of show business’ most outspoken members is being defended by another show-biz loose cannon — in a most un-PC way.
Alec Baldwin — whose MSNBC show “Up Late With Alec Baldwin” was terminated on Tuesday after the former “30 Rock” star hurled a homophobic slur at a paparazzo — has found an ally in the form of Joan Rivers.
Rivers stood up for Baldwin with a string of slurs when TMZ asked her about the topic.
“Let me tell you, everybody just relax. Everybody’s either a wop, a nigger, a kike, a chink, a fairy, a mick …. everybody’s something, so why don’t we all just calm down,” Rivers said.
For those who don’t have their Big Book of Bigoted Epithets handy, Rivers was talking about Italians, black people, Jews, Chinese people, gays and Irish people.
Rivers finished off with with a Thanksgiving message — with a dig at Native Americans thrown in for good measure.
“Be thankful that we’re all living in America, and stop everybody getting so damn uptight. And this goes for the Indians, both dot and feather,” Rivers said.
And somewhere up in comedian heaven, Lenny Bruce is blushing…
