First ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ Trailer Features Mia Wasikowska Battling Time Himself (Video)

Latest Disney adapation of the Lewis Carroll stories premieres in theaters on May 27

Disney released the first full-length trailer for “Alice Through the Looking Glass” on Thursday.

In the trailer, we see Alice (Mia Wasikowska) return to Wonderland, which is now under the tyrannical rule of the Lord of Time (Sacha Baron Cohen). Time has ruined the magical world in addition to kidnapping the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).

Depp, Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter all returned after appearing in 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland,” along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall.

James Bobin takes over as director from Tim Burton, who serves as producer. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay, based on characters created by Lewis Carroll. Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd also produced with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer.

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” opens in theaters on May 27.
