Alison Sweeney Has 30 Seconds to Answer Questions About Her ‘Days of Our Lives’ Character, Or Else (Video)

“Biggest Loser” host must handle Ellen DeGeneres’ rapid-fire test — or get a bucket poured on her

Alison Sweeney is winding down her time on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” after 21 years playing Sami Brady on the NBC soap opera. To see how well she’s been paying attention, she agreed to play a special version of “30 Seconds or Else” on Wednesday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Sweeney was given 30 seconds to answer 10 questions about Sami. To help DeGeneres kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ULTA Beauty agreed to donate $1,000 to breast cancer research for every question Sweeney got correct. But if she failed to answer all 10 correctly, or if time ran out, then it was bucket time.

The contents of the bucket weren’t revealed, making Sweeney even more anxious.

Unfortunately for Sweeney, DeGeneres didn’t seem to be in any hurry asking the questions. Sweeney nailed every question about the “Days” character she’s played since she was a teenager, but they only got through six of them before time ran out.

“You went too slow,” Sweeney lamented, but DeGeneres insisted she was going as fast as she could. We’ll never know for sure, but there’s a real chance DeGeneres just wanted to see Sweeney get dumped on national television.

Sweeney was expecting water, but instead she was doused in powder. That didn’t mean water wasn’t on the menu, though.

DeGeneres softened the humiliation by announcing that ULTA Beauty will donate the full $10,000 despite Sweeney not getting through all 10 questions.

Sweeney can be seen as Sami on “Days of Our Lives” weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on NBC. She is also the host of “The Biggest Loser,” airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airs in syndication nationwide.
