Network scores big win with new series about underground arm wrestling
AMC's new reality show “Game of Arms” flexed its muscles in the ratings with its premiere Tuesday night, becoming the highest-rated unscripted series premiere in the network's history.
All told, “Game of Arms” — which offers a look inside the raw and highly-competitive world of underground arm wrestling — grabbed 1 million total viewers with its premiere, and 626,000 viewers in the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers.
AMC's other reality shows include “Comic Book Men” and “Small Town Security.”
“Game of Arms,” which airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m., is from Undertow Films’ Matt Renner and Ethan Prochnik, the producers of “Deadliest Catch,” along with their partner, executive producer Dan Ilani.
“Undertow Films, hand-in-hand with the AMC unscripted team, delivered unique access into a really compelling world with ‘Game of Arms.'” AMC president Charlie Collier said. “I am so proud of their attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality storytelling. And, the good news is, the matches are just getting started.”
