‘American Idol’ Releases First Look at Season 13’s Judges in Harmony (Video)

Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. appear to be in sync on the Fox competition series

After much trial and tribulation, Fox seems very proud of what it has accomplished for the upcoming 13th season of “American Idol.”

With the help of new executive producers, new judge Harry Connick Jr., on-off-and-on-again judge Jennifer Lopez and returning judge Keith Urban, “American Idol” has concluded auditions. On Wednesday, the network released more than four minutes of footage from the auditions in Austin, Detroit and Salt Lake City.

Last season’s catty back and forth between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj has been replaced by a very jovial threesome. Lopez can be the Queen Bee while Connick supplies the humor. And Urban isn’t waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It seems apparent to the auditioning performers, too, that the energy is very different in the room.

“American Idol” Season 13 debuts over two nights on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Thursday, Jan. 16 at 8/7c on Fox.
