Apple has joined the race to develop a 3D projection technology that doesn't require special glasses.
According to CNET, the Cupertino, California, technology alpha dog has successfully patented a system that creates a stereoscopic optical effect without the need for funny eyewear.
The system involve projecting an pixelated image onto a texture surface, which would bounce separate images to the left and right eyes of the audience at a wide variety of angles.
Apple is just one technology company working on the 3D-with-no-glasses problem, with Nintendo, Toshiba and Sharp working on solutions of their own.
But then, Apple is Apple.
